Anthony “Sir George” Brightly is a certified phenom — a former child prodigy who has spent over five decades shaping reggae and Lovers Rock. Born in Hackney, East London, to Jamaican parents George and Millicent Brightly, Anthony grew up in the heart of sound system culture.
He co-founded Black Slate in 1972, toured the world with hits like Amigo, and today continues to champion reggae through film projects, the Lovers Rock Café, the Black Slate 50+ Collection, and his cultural base at Buckleys Country Club in Antigua.
